Hello, my name is Francesca. I am an avid knitter, designer and upcycler, born in Italy and living in Tufnell Park, London. I love macaroons and make the best tiramisu in the world.
The inspiration for my shop comes from four women and two woollen fishes.
The first one is my nana in Italy, who taught me how to knit when I was a kid. In her kitchen, of course – that’s where everything happens.
The second one is my mum, a great knitter. She says that handmade items are beautiful because they are imperfect. Isn’t that a great life lesson?
The third one is my boyfriend Ben’s auntie Gladys, who knit a woollen fish for him when he was born. He named it George and used to carry it everywhere.
When my boyfriend’s mum (the fourth woman in the story) wanted to welcome me in the family, she knitted a woollen fish for me.
George is a woolen fish. Ben’s auntie Gladys knit it for him when he was born. He named it George, used to carry it everywhere and loved it to bits ever since. When Ben’s mum wanted to welcome me in the family, she knitted a woolen fish for me.
